We are Pauline and Tim Bentley and we were introduced to Tibetan Terriers over eleven years ago when a friend and colleague of Pauline’s suggested that this breed might be just what we were looking for, and sure enough when we finally went to have a look at a litter we were both smitten and just had to have one.  Enter Lottie, our beautiful cream/champagne girl, and our lives have never been the same since.  (My friend has a lot to answer for!).

Lottie was bought as a pet but everyone who saw her said that we should show her, so off  I trotted – Lottie in tow,  to Tamworth Carnival Exemption Show, where I entered her in 3 classes and to my complete delight she won all three and went on to win Best in Show.  I came home with my three red rosettes and my big BEST IN SH0W rosette plus bags of food and that was me hooked on Dog Shows.  Sadly Lottie’s show career did not last very long, something I know she is not too upset about as she thinks she is a princess and not a dog and prefers to lie on the settee, head placed strategically on a cushion looking beautiful, and keeping the rest of the household in order!

Our next Show Dog was Harry (Cederaire Smokey Joe of Shanibar), a very handsome black boy who won many first places at Open and Championship shows, plus one Reserve Challenge Certificate.  A Champion in our eyes!  Harry is now also retired.  He is a happy boy who loves singing along with anyone who can hold a note as well as some of the adverts on TV.  (His singing is not always welcome I have to admit, especially when we are trying to enjoy some music).  We cannot help but laugh at him as he always welcomes us home by bringing us either a slipper or a shoe, which can then sometimes be taken to the bottom of the garden and left there.
